Meet NEWT.
Avinti's FREE Email Server Plugin for
Malware and Blended Threats.

How NEWT works

NEWT is a filter that works with your existing mail server. NEWT plugs into common Mail Transfer Agents (MTAs) such as SendMail, Postfix, and Exim. It is designed to look for web-based attacks launched in targeted threat emails or spam. NEWT looks for URLs or IP addresses inside the email and compares them to its database of known malware sites. This database is constantly updated as new attacks occur and new web-based malware is found.

NEWT leverages the power of Avinti’s iSolation Server™, to intercept and validate web-based attacks. The iSolation Server, which is designed to stop new malware, malware variants, targeted attacks, and blended threats, uses patent pending technology to stop web-based threats from being launched in email. Addresses of malicious websites are forwarded to the NEWT filter, updating it with the latest list of malicious web sites.

NEWT continues to help find new blended threat attacks through the power of the NEWT network and you. In addition to blocking known malware URLs, NEWT sends new URLs anonymously back to Avinti’s farm of iSolation Servers for observation. The isolation Server views these websites and IP addresses and indexes new malware as it appears. New attacks are picked up immediately and alerts are provided back to NEWT filters for blocking. The process is safe and anonymous.
